A cotton throw blanket woven in North Carolina from original artwork drawn in my Chicago studio: a raven perched on a skull, surrounded by roses, urns and cut flowers in a bold linocut style. The design is woven into the cloth, not printed on top of it, so it cannot crack, fade or wash off.

This matters more than it sounds. A printed blanket is ink sitting on the surface of a finished cloth, and ink eventually cracks and fades. This design is built from the yarn up on a jacquard loom, so the pattern is structural. It will look the same in ten years as it does the day it arrives, and it softens with every wash instead of degrading.
The edges are finished with a multicolored knotted fringe, woven in rather than sewn on.

I'm Kelly. I design everything in this shop myself, from my studio in Chicago, usually with two rescue dogs asleep somewhere behind me.
I drew this one the way an old woodblock would have been cut, in solid shapes with the linework scratched back in. The raven and the skull are doing the obvious job, but the roses are the point. Memento mori was never really about death. It was about paying attention while you are here. That is a nicer thing to have on your couch than a plastic skeleton.
